Responsibilities
During my co-op I had the opportunity to work on all aspects of the manufacturing and assembly of their flagship product the PBR 1250L. My main responsibilities included the wiring of PCBs and other electronics, thermoforming acrylic, routing and finishing large pieces of thermoformed acrylic, assembling LED panels (attaching wiring harnesses, and securing to heat-sinks) along with various other assembly and quality assurance procedures. I was solely responsible for the trimming and routing of the thermoformed acrylic tanks which is a crucial part of the manufacturing process as the rest of the assembly relies on finished tanks. Near the end of my co-op term I had the opportunity to work on the assembly of a new prototype product, the seaweed bioreactors, which was a great opportunity to put my technical skills to use by assembling the products without any form of documentation and limited instruction.
